IPL 2013: Sourav Ganguly not to play IPL 6

Sourav Ganguly,one of the most successful captain of Indian National Cricket Team,  not to play in the sixth edition of Indian Premier League which is popularly known as IPL 6.

Sourav Ganguly Pune WarriorsOwner of the Pune Warriors India franchise, Subrata Roy, has said that Sourav Ganguly, the team’s skipper in the ongoing fifth season, is likely to remain just a mentor of the team from 2013 onwards.

“Ganguly [is] likely to be [the] mentor of Pune IPL from next year,” the Sahara Group supremo said as his team goes through another insipid season after becoming part of the IPL family in 2011. However, Roy further added that a “final decision [will be taken] after the current season gets over.

Sourav Ganguly too confirmed it by saying that he was asked to lead Pune, and now he wants to give youngsters a chance. “I did not want to be the captain but was asked to do so. Now I want to give a chance to the youngsters,” Ganguly said. Ganguly was appointed skipper after Yuvraj Singh, currently recuperating from a rare germ cell cancer, was ruled out.
